Robert Steven Gamburd, MD

A respected authority in physical medicine and rehabilitation, Dr. Gamburd is a professor at UC San Francisco in addition to his clinical practice. He is also a medical consultant for the San Francisco Ballet and was a team physician for the San Francisco 49ers for 20 years. 

Dr. Gamburd sees patients ages 12 and older for issues such as disc herniation, joint and musculoskeletal pain, spinal stenosis and facet joint arthritis. He is skilled in non-operative spine and musculoskeletal care, intraspinal injection, epidural injection, facet joint injection, peripheral nerve injection, radiofrequency ablation and more. “I love helping my patients understand and manage their health issues,” he says. 

Originally from Detroit, Michigan, Dr. Gamburd enjoys spending time with his wife and their children and grandchildren. His other hobbies include swimming, cycling, hiking, painting, sculpting and ceramics.
