Robert Lawrence Barclay, MD

Board-certified Gastroenterologist Robert Lawrence Barclay, MD, FASGE, is dedicated to helping patients live healthy, fulfilling lives. In addition to 25 years of medical practice, he has served for a total of 23 years as a clinical assistant professor of medicine in Rockford, Illinois, then Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. He also holds a U.S. patent for a bowel-prep formula.

Providing patient-centered, compassionate care for adults ages 18 and older, Dr. Barclay helps with conditions like acid-peptic disease, GI neoplasia, inflammatory bowel disease, and biliary stone disease. He is skilled in a range of procedures, including EGD, conventional and underwater colonoscopy, ERCP, endoscopic ultrasound (EUS), and more.

Dr. Barclay was born and raised in Ontario, Canada, and enjoys swimming, tennis, and biking. He and his wife, Margaret, have a son, Conor, and a dog named Howard.
