About Madhumithaa Bharadwaj

About The Provider

Pediatrician Madhumithaa Bharadwaj, MD, enjoys watching children grow into their best selves while she treats them throughout childhood and adolescence. “I love being a pediatrician because I am constantly reminded of how resilient children are,” she shares. “Being a voice for them gives me a purpose.”

That purpose includes respecting the uniqueness of each of her patients. “I am a Hindu, and Hinduism believes in ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam,’ which means the world is one family,” Dr. Bharadwaj explains. “I believe in treating everyone equally without differences in religion, race, culture or beliefs and bringing healthcare as an available resource to every corner of the world.”

Her own parents are physicians, and Dr. Bharadwaj says hours spent in their office showed her the difference she could make in the lives of others. After medical school in India, she completed a pediatrics residency at the Children’s Hospital of Michigan in Detroit. She is also a certified lactation counselor.

Originally from south India, Dr. Bharadwaj speaks fluent Tamil and has lived in Oregon for most of the decade. She advocates mindfulness meditation. “It has personally helped me become more focused and less stressed in life and transformed how I see my day,” she says.

Dr. Bharadwaj enjoys hiking and reading books. Trained in classical Indian music, she continues to sing when time permits. Her family includes a lively toddler and her husband, an engineer.
