About Leonardo Cesar Clavijo

About The Provider

Dr. Leonardo Clavijo joined us from the Central Coast where for the last two years he was instrumental in developing the French Hospital Structural Cardiac Program in San Luis Obispo. Before that, Dr. Clavijo spent 15 years as a professor of Cardiology at the University of Southern California, where he served as Head of the Interventional Cardiology Fellowship program and Director of Vascular Medicine and Peripheral Interventions. He trained in Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology, and Peripheral Interventions in Georgetown and the Washington Hospital Center.
Dr. Clavijo is widely recognized as a leader in the field of interventional cardiology with extensive experience in performing complex minimally invasive percutaneous coronary, cardiac structural/valvular and vascular interventions.
Dr. Clavijo has participated in more than 40 clinical and interventional studies. He has authored more than 80 articles and abstracts in peer-reviewed medical journals, as well as multiple book chapters. He is frequently invited to speak and teach on complex cardiac and vascular interventions.
Dr. Clavijo is board-certified in Cardiology and Interventional Cardiology. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions, the Society for Vascular Medicine and the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society.
Dr. Clavijo is originally from Colombia and in his spare time enjoys spending time with his wife and two children, hiking, fly fishing and fly tying.

    Documented notes showed T2 diabetes and I quickly sent a note for correction. Not only did I never receive response but now I have to worry about correcting the info systems (not easy and dangerous to others that read it as being correct).
