Kori Danielle Pienovi, CNM

Certified nurse-midwife Kori Pienovi brings more than 15 years of experience to her nurse-midwifery practice. “I find it very rewarding to develop relationships with the patients I work with, learning about them and supporting them in the ways they desire to be supported,” she shares. “I also really enjoy sharing information with parents to be able to make choices for themselves and their families in their care.” 
Kori works with women through many phases of life, including well-woman care, gynecology and family planning in addition to pregnancy care and birthing. Her special interests include caring for the LGBTQIA+ community in conception, wellness and health, birth, and the transition to parenthood.  
“I find it rewarding to usher families through the births of their babies, no matter how a baby is born, and witnessing my patients face challenges and fears in labor and birth and work through those,” she explains. 
During her undergraduate studies in medical anthropology, Kori learned how midwives support birth in most areas of the world. Drawn by how much midwifery and movement during labor make sense, Kori continued her education with a Master of Science in Nursing and a focus on nurse-midwifery at Columbia University. “I chose midwifery as my path in medical care because of the magic of birth, of ushering a family through pregnancy, and witnessing the entrance of their baby into the world,” she says. 
Outside of work, Kori is often walking her dog around the neighborhood or spending time with her family and dear group of friends. She loves exploring the Portland food scene and spending time with her kids in the Northwest’s many parks and outdoor spaces.
