Kathleen Elizabeth Butler, CNM

Certified nurse-midwife Katie Butler’s natural desire to care for people made nursing a natural fit. “I have always found meaning and purpose in helping others and our society, especially during big life events or in difficult times in life, which led me to begin my nursing career,” she explains. She completed her Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Saint Louis University. 
After years as a labor-and-delivery nurse in a hospital, Katie decided to become a certified nurse midwife to help pregnant and birthing people take ownership of their experience. She says, “I became a certified nurse-midwife so I could give people another option and model for their health care that includes shared decision-making; informed choice and consent; and low intervention and supportive care during labor, birth and postpartum.” Katie focused on nurse-midwifery while completing her Master of Science in Nursing at Frontier Nursing University.
Katie believes “no question or concern is too small.” She has a passion for working with teens and people of diverse backgrounds and identities. Her goal is to help her patients feel comfortable and confident making their health care choices. 
After receiving her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Saint Louis University, Katie focused on nurse midwifery while completing her Master of Science in Nursing at Frontier Nursing University. She is certified through the American Midwifery Certification Board. 
Living and working in the Pacific Northwest is a good fit for Katie, who enjoys outdoor activities like paddleboarding, hiking and backpacking. She also loves to travel and spend time with friends and family.
