Irena Briseis Cabrera, MD

Board-certified physician Irena Cabrera, MD, specializes in obstetrics and gynecology. Her goal is to deliver experienced, compassionate care that makes a positive difference in the lives of patients, families and the community. “From performing life-changing surgeries to providing routine prenatal care, the ability to diagnose, treat and support patients through their health journeys is a privilege I deeply value,” she says.

Fascinated by the complexities of the human body, Dr. Cabrera decided not only to pursue a career as a physician, but to stay current on cutting-edge discoveries as well. “Medicine was the perfect field to merge my passion for science with my desire to help people,” she shares. “The field is constantly evolving with new research, technologies and treatments. I find it rewarding to keep learning and adapting, ensuring that I can provide the best possible care for my patients.”

Dr. Cabrera earned her medical degree at Loma Linda University School of Medicine in Southern California, then completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Lehigh Valley Health Network in Allentown, Pennsylvania. She enjoys working at Adventist Health Portland with a team of experts who collaborate to solve complex problems and provide whole-person care.

In her leisure time, Dr. Cabrera enjoys being outside, spending time with her family and dogs, and eating her way through all the delicious foods in Portland. She fluently speaks English and Spanish.
