About The Provider
Nurse practitioner Nora Brighid McDonald, FNP-C, appreciates that family medicine allows her to support her patients’ goals across their lifespan. She likes to interact and connect with people. She values hard work and the “promotion of quality and well-being from within the womb to natural death.”
An interest in physiology encouraged Nora’s health care career. After many years as a registered nurse working in critical and emergency care — including as a flight nurse — Nora returned to school at the University of South Alabama, where she completed her Master of Science in Nursing with a focus on nurse practitioner training in family medicine and adult gerontological acute care.
Nora is married and has three children. She and her husband raise beef cattle and grow alfalfa hay. She also enjoys hiking, camping, fishing and hunting.

I like the Doctor. Hope she stays in The Dalles. I say that because she is the third Primary care doctor I have had in the last 5 years. I'm feeling self conscious hoping it isn't me.

My Chart says she listened to my heart and that I don't have a murmur. Every provider for the past 40 years have said I do. Bottom line, she didn't actually listen to my heart that day. I did, however, appreciate they took my blood pressure with and actual cuff and not a machine.

Hanorah always listens to my questions and concerns. She goes through all the information that has been added from other care givers and discusses the next steps with options for my treatments. She hears my perception of what I think might be happening and really cares what I think. With her recommendations and my understanding of them, we chose the next steps of treatment. I'm very happy with the care she provides.
