Gina Teresa Cardona, CNM

Certified nurse midwife Gina Cardona, CNM, brings a genuine and experienced style of care to her patients. She considers it an honor and a privilege to “care for women and families during a very intimate and vulnerable time in their life” and to help women navigate through multiple pregnancies and deliveries.

Volunteering as a nurse at a freestanding birth center on the Texas-Mexico border fueled Gina’s passion for her career. “I became very interested in midwifery and birth, especially for vulnerable populations with minimal access to quality health care,” she explains. Her interest includes giving parents the opportunity for a low intervention, normal physiologic birth in the hospital setting.

Gina earned a Master of Science in Nursing with a focus on nurse midwifery at the University of Colorado Denver, then went on to serve in several roles including nurse preceptor, nurse midwife and clinical director.

Gina provides prenatal and postpartum care, labor and birth services and women’s health and contraceptive care. Fluent in both Spanish and English, she takes special interest in working with families of various backgrounds and ethnicities.

In her free time, Gina enjoys swimming, hiking, and spending time in warm and sunny destinations.
