Gary Steven Bernard, DO

Dr. Gary Bernard grew up in the Midwest, in a large family of a family practice doctor. His goal in life, according to his parents, was to become a doctor and to some day “live where it doesn’t snow in the winter.”

He received his undergraduate degree, with a teaching certificate, from Michigan State University. After spending a number of years doing cancer research, Dr. Bernard returned to school and obtained his doctorate from The University of North Texas, Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine. He returned to Michigan with his young family and completed a residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Hurley Medical Center in Flint, where he received an award for outstanding laparoscopic (laser) skills and served his final year as Chief Resident.

He has since made his way west (where it doesn’t snow in the winter) and has never looked back.

Dr. Bernard specializes in general obstetrics and gynecology, but especially enjoys high risk pregnancy care, minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and menopause management.
