Debi Jeanne Mollie Thomas, MD

Debi Thomas, MD, is a board-certified general surgeon who specializes in minimally invasive and robotic surgery of the esophagus, stomach and gastrointestinal tract. She is also skilled in hernia repair, gallbladder removal and appendectomies.
Dr. Thomas earned her medical degree at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California and completed her residency at UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento. She added to her training by pursuing a fellowship in minimally invasive and advanced gastrointestinal surgery at Oregon Health and Science University.
Her passion for patient wellbeing manifests through providing care in rural communities, serving active duty and military veterans, and engaging in various volunteering efforts across California. Dr. Thomas has published in several medical research journals, including JAMA Surgery and PLOS ONE.
Dr. Thomas has research interests in surgical efficiency and quality improvement and is committed to surgical equity. In her spare time, she enjoys family and friends, cooking new recipes and traveling.
