Daniel Aaron Furlong, MD

Dr. Furlong is a general urologist practicing at Adventist Health Portland, offering medical and surgical care for both men and women with a broad range of urologic concerns, including voiding dysfunction (both neurogenic and non-neurogenic), urologic cancer and survivorship (prostate, bladder, kidney, testicular and penile), kidney and bladder stones, genitourinary trauma and reconstruction (urethral/ureteral stricture repair, pyeloplasty and prosthetics), men’s health (enlarged prostate/prostatitis, vasectomies and erectile dysfunction), and female urologic disorders (overactive bladder, urinary incontinence, interstitial cystitis/bladder pain syndrome, urinary fistulae, urethral diverticula and prolapse). He strives to continuously adopt the latest evidence-based emerging techniques, treatments and technologies into his practice. From an early age, Dr. Furlong felt a calling toward urology after his father passed away from bladder cancer. This experience made him passionate about treating his patients holistically, focusing on their needs and quality of life, instead of just their diagnoses. Dr. Furlong trained under world renowned authorities in the fields of robotic, laparoscopic, endoscopic and open urologic surgery, completing his urologic surgery residency in his hometown at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida. He subsequently pursued advanced fellowship training at the Medical University of South Carolina, specializing in female pelvic medicine, male and female urologic reconstruction, neurourology and complex voiding dysfunction.  After obtaining his undergraduate degree from the University of Southern California, Dr. Furlong graduated from USC with a dual MD/MBA degree from Keck School of Medicine and Marshall School of Business. This background provides Dr. Furlong with a deep understanding of both medicine and business to further the partnership of OHSU and Adventist Health Portland in bringing both efficient and effective urologic care to the broader Pacific Northwest community.Outside of work, Dr. Furlong enjoys spending time with his wife (a Portland native) and son, and playing fetch with his goldendoodle. He is also an enthusiastic golfer, hiker and skier.
