About The Provider
Brenda Varela is a certified family nurse practitioner and advanced oncology certified nurse practitioner passionate about cancer care.
Brenda uses her experience as a career nurse for the last two decades and as a former Bakersfield College clinical faculty member to educate and passionately advocate for her patients.
She treats adults 18 and older, and provides a range of cancer services, including genomic risk assessment and counseling and breast cancer care. She is bilingual in English and Spanish.
Brenda considers it a privilege to get to know her patients and their families while walking alongside them through their care journeys. Appointments, Brenda says, are opportunities for her to laugh and cry with her patients while also advocating and supporting them.
