Ayaz Khan, MD, MBA, is a board-certified physical medicine and rehabilitation physician with subspecialty training in pain management. He focuses on interventional treatments for adults with spine conditions such as cervical and lumbar stenosis, radiculopathy, degenerative disc disease, sacroiliitis and osteoarthritis.
Dr. Khan was inspired to pursue a career in medicine while serving as a caregiver for children with disabilities. The experience motivated him to choose a career path that would allow him to make a meaningful difference for others, especially those facing complex medical conditions. He focuses on creating a supportive, empathetic environment for his patients that fosters trust and encourages healing.
Originally from Rochester Hills, Michigan, Dr. Khan completed fellowship training in Sacramento before coming to Sonora. In his free time, he enjoys hiking, rock climbing and other outdoor activities.

I had described a series of events that I felt pertained to my condition. He called me later in the afternoon, and I repeated the same conditions, and it seemed to be the first time he actually heard me. I felt as if in the actual visit, he was not listening carefully to what I was saying.

I have already recommended Dr. Khan to others. He is one of the kindest and most patient providers I have ever seen. He listens intently without judgement. His care recommendations are thoughtful with my best in mind (not necessarily what will bring in the most money for the practice). You would do well to keep him on your staff.
