Audrey Hagiwara, MD

Audrey M. Hagiwara, MD, is a board-certified physician specializing in rheumatology. Passionate about providing personalized care that improves patients’ quality of life, she commonly treats conditions including inflammatory arthritis, gout, osteoarthritis, and connective tissue diseases like systemic lupus erythematosus.

When Dr. Hagiwara was a child, her father experienced severe osteoarthritis in both knees. Medical treatment, including total knee replacements in both legs, helped him regain mobility and function. Witnessing that transformation inspired Dr. Hagiwara to become a rheumatologist so she could help others.

Along with her clinical expertise, she brings years of experience as a researcher, author, presenter and mentor, and she has received multiple awards for excellence.

Born and raised in Kaneohe, Dr. Hagiwara enjoys cooking, running, singing, figure skating at Ice Palace, and making memories with family. She has fun playing fetch with her dog, a little Maltipoo named Momo (“peach” in Japanese).
