Ashley Booth Ulmer, CNM

When certified nurse-midwife Ashley Ulmer was just 18 years old, she was assigned the task of videoing a birth. Awed by the energy and grace of birth, she felt honored to be present during this sacred time. 
"My own birth experiences have taught me so much about who I am at my core but also of who I am in those powerful, fleeting and fiery moments surrounding labor and birth,” she says. “I have had the personal experiences of homebirth, waterbirth and of being a surrogate mother. I consider it a privilege and honor to partner with people on their journey through pregnancy and birth. My approach and aim are to flex to the needs of each person by providing knowledge and expertise — as well as to simply hold space and listen." 
After completing her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree at Middle Tennessee State University, Ashley received a Master of Science in Nursing degree with a focus on nurse-midwifery from Frontier Nursing University.
Ashley’s passion for social justice study fuels her interest in building a more equitable and inclusive community through midwifery. When she’s not busy with her two children, Ashley may be experimenting in the kitchen, sewing, or preparing meals for family and friends.
