Anthony Andrew Valdez, MD

Specializing in internal medicine, Dr. Anthony Valdez initially went to UC San Diego to become a teacher. He decided to take the MCAT on a whim and—scoring well—applied to medical school and got in.
Perhaps reflecting his early love of education, Dr. Valdez’ believes his strength is in teaching. He enjoys educating his patients and working within each patient’s unique boundaries. “My goal is to make patients independent of me,” he says, and does so by teaching them strategies to stay healthy and be happy.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Dr. Valdez and his wife Dr. Michelle L. Remmes have been married 37 years and had two children. Dr. Valdez enjoys gardening, biking and playing golf in his spare time.
