Alvin Vanegas, MD

Alvin Vanegas, MD, is a board-certified family medicine physician enthusiastic about making a difference for his patients. Originally from El Salvador, he earned his medical degree in Havana, Cuba, before moving to the U.S. and completing the Adventist Health Hanford Family Medicine Residency Program in 2021. Dr. Vanegas cares for patients from age two through older adulthood, providing a wide range of services to help keel families healthy. He regularly treats conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, COPD, high cholesterol, and asthma, and routinely performs Pap smears. He believes spirituality is a crucial part of the healing process and loves seeing his patients’ health improve. He’s fluent in English and Spanish. Outside of work, he practices what he preaches with an active lifestyle that includes running, hiking, biking, and exercise.
