Michael Joseph Kilbourne, MD

 Michael Kilbourne, MD, is a cardiothoracic surgeon specializing in issues affecting the heart, chest and lungs. He brings years of experience performing a wide range of advanced procedures including repair and replacement of heart valves, coronary artery bypass, ablation for atrial fibrillation, and surgical removal of masses and tumors between the chest and lungs, among many other operations. 

A former U.S. Army officer, Dr. Kilbourne earned his medical degree at Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences in Bethesda, Maryland. He completed his residency at Walter Reed Military Medical Center, also in Bethesda. His deepest professional reward comes from seeing patients recover and return home after surgery. 

For relaxation, Dr. Kilbourne enjoys playing soccer, long-distance running and riding BMX bikes with his sons. He’s also a fan of NASCAR racing
